The Dubai Fitness Challenge begins on October 20 and the 30 day initiative calls upon everyone to engage in some form of physical activity for 30 minutes, daily, as stated in the Gulf News report, “Dubai Fitness Challenge: Countdown is on”, published October 7, 2017.

This contest has gained popularity and companies like Emirates airlines have come on board with the initiative.

We asked our readers if they took time out to exercise in the day, and 49 per cent of respondents said they don’t. Only 16 per cent of people work out for around two hours in the day.

According to another Gulf News article, published July 2017, UAE residents walk an average of 4,516 steps each day, falling below the global average. The fitness challenge is a great way to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
