Happiness is not an “idealistic or theoretical” goal, said Uhoud Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness and Quality of Life at the Global Dialogue for Happiness Forum.

In some parts of the world, wealth is high but the level of happiness is “fading”, as stated in the Gulf News report, “Minister: Happiness not an idealistic goal but a tangible pillar”, published February 11.

We asked our readers if they are happy at their work place and surprisingly, 52 per cent of people said no.

Readers responded to our question on our Facebook page and while some complained about lower salaries and insufficient benifits, others were grateful for the opportunities provided by the UAE.

Gulf News reader, Christopher Alvar said: “I’m not happy. My salary is great and my job is easy. It’s just me. I need to find myself.”
