A couple of months ago, I got a call from a du representative on their offer of Dh75 per month, giving 600 minutes call time plus some data. I met the representative in a shopping mall as scheduled and contract was signed. Towards the end of the meeting, he very casually informed me that the Dh75 will be applicable only for three months and then it will jump to Dh150 per month and it is subject to cancellation and to avail this Dh75, a text message have to be sent for three months. Now after umpteen number of calls and visits to du, they say that everything was mentioned in the contract. I am disappointed that du is resorting to this tricky proposal. I asked the du counter staff if they were fair in their dealings, they should have said, “we have an exciting offer 600 minutes plus data bundle for Dh150 and more exciting, only Dh75 for three months.” Instead they highlighted only Dh75 per month. The more annoying was, I am asked solve the matter with the du representative, could be third party agent, who made the contract on du’s behalf. Cancellation of the number and the contract will cost Dh1,200, which is another trap.
