What is your first single about?
This first original song is a narration of love, passion and jealousy. It tells the story of a doomed relationship caused by lies, jealousy and mistrust that never existed but were only perceived.
What can the crowd expect from your first song?
The performance is a representation of a new beginning. It will be a wonderful mix of jazz with a light latin influence.
How long did it take to come up with an original?
Not long. My guitar player Alexander Vorobev wrote the music and it was during one afternoon in Dubai’s very hot summer, we sat down with sax player Jino Kim for a jam session. We ended up composing five songs that afternoon.
Where do you usually perform?
I am resident artist at Music Hall, Dubai in Zabeel Saray with performances every Thursday and Friday Nights.
Who are your favorite Jazz Singers?
Billy Holiday’s ‘You’ve Changed’ is my all-time favourite. I don’t think anyone can deliver the blues like this lady. She has been my biggest influence. I also adore Judy Garland and have learnt a lot from her along the way.
