Dubai: Shaikh Juma Dalmook Al Maktoum, a Double Trap silver medallist in Asian Games, has vouched to do one better — although in the Trap discipline at the 2018 Indonesia Asian Games.

Shaikh Juma, who was one of the participants at the NAS Sports Tournament’s road race late on Monday, said that he has already started training for the continental competition to be held in Jakarta from August 18 to September 2.

Shaikh Juma had clinched the Double Trap silver medal at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, took a bronze in the same discipline four years later in Incheon, South Korea. However, now he feels he needs to change his discipline and try out something new.

“I have already commenced my preparations for Indonesia under my coach Rafael [Mukhamediarov]. I will continue training here and then participate in a couple of competitions in Europe, most probably in Austria and then another training camp in Europe to be fully prepared for Indonesia 2018,” Shaikh Juma told Gulf News.

“A gold medal is what I would love to have around my neck. I want to see what I can achieve in Indonesia,” he added.

Joining Shaikh Juma in the road run were his brothers Shaikh Ahmad and Shaikh Hamad along with Shaikh Rashid Bin Ammar Al Nuaimi, Shaikh Humaid Bin Ammar Al Nuaimi and Shaikh Abdullah Bin Majid Al Nuaimi.
