Dubai: DBMSC (Dubai Building Material Supply Company) that dominates indoor cricket tournaments in the UAE recorded a clean sweep of all the recent indoor tournaments.

Many tournaments were organised by indoor stadiums in the UAE as part of Ramadan and during the summer. The summer period is one of the busiest time for indoor cricket and ever since UAE hosted the Indoor world cup, the number of indoor teams have also increased drastically.

DBMSC won the International Cricket Council (ICC) Academy, Insportz and United Pro Sports tournaments.

The domination was such that the best of three finals at Insportz were finished in only two games, not requiring the third game to decide the champions.

Speaking to Gulf News, Sumeet Shewakramani, managing director of DBMSC, said “To dominate all indoor tournaments is not easy but it shows the determination and dedication of our teams. It is not only the A team but also our B team which has been doing so well.” Incidentally, DBMSC encourages indoor cricket a lot and even sponsored the UAE Indoor World Cup teams.

In the United Pro Sports Season 4, DBMSC A won the A Division title defeating PNG Jewellers in the finals with Aqib Malik bagging the Man of the Finals and former UAE national team opener Ramveer Rai even showing his ability as a bowler to bag the best bowler award.

The DBMSC A have not lost a single game of United Pro tournament till date. Even DBMSC B entered the final of B Division but lost to Dubai Qalandars.

At Insportz, DBMSC beat Knight Shot Hawks 2-0 in best of 3 finals with Prashant Kumara bagging Man of the Finals award and skipper Saqib Nazir, who is also captain of the UAE indoor world cup team won the best bowler award.

In the ICC Academy, DBMSC A and B teams showed their class in the Ramadan tournament by winning the Gold and Silver division titles respectively.

In the Gold Division the A team beat Knight Riders with Sameer Nayak getting Man of the Finals award and Prashant Kumara getting Man of the Series. In the Silver Division the B team beat SFS Falcons.

Nilesh Shewakramani, executive director of DBMSC said: “The competition is increasing but we have a lot of talented players and majority of them have represented the UAE in indoor world cup. It is indeed a treat to see their commitment and dedication playing in matches by scheduling their working timings.”
