Abu Dhabi: Al Dhafra have signed Portuguese striker Helder Guedes from Portugal’s Rio Ave. The 31-year-old scored 10 in 32 appearances last season.

That was his best performance in three years at the club since joining from second tier side Penafiel. He also represented Portugal at youth level. This is Al Dhafra’s second signing after bringing in Uruguayan midfielder Nicolas Milesi from Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal last week.

The 25-year-old former Torque, Paranaense and Danubio, won the Saudi league with Al Hilal last season scoring two in 18 appearances. Al Dhafra finished one point clear of relegation from the Arabian Gulf League last season and have recently replaced Macedonian coach Gjoko Hadzievski with Serbian Vuk Rasovic.
