Dubai: Tanish George, a Grade 8 student of The Indian High School, Dubai made waves at the 44th Glenmark Junior National Aquatic Championships-2017 in Pune (India). The youngster bagged six gold medals and two silver medals displaying finely honed skills that are reflected in two individual national records and one relay national record.

By virtue of his superb show, Tanish has qualified for the 9th Asian Age group swimming championship 2017 to be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from September 9 to 16 and will represent India.

Representing Karnataka state in the national championships, Tanish produced a superlative performance stunning all favourites. In the 50m butterfly event, he won the gold setting a national record with a time of 0:26:68 and followed it up with 100m butterfly gold and a new national mark in 0:58:37.

In the 200m butterfly, he bagged silver with a time of 2:12:29, which is a new meet record.

In the 100m freestyle, he won the silver in 0:55:54. He did even better in the 200m freestyle by winning the gold in 2:01:46.

Tanish sparkled in the relay events too by winning the 4x100 freestyle relay gold and the 4x200m freestyle relay gold. In the 4x100m medley relay, he bagged the gold and was part of a new national record-setting effort.
