Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, yesterday (Thursday) met camel owners and trainers at the 2017-2018 season-ending Arabian Camel Racing Festivalat the Al Marmoum Camel Racetrack.

Shaikh Mohammad and the tribesmen discussed the racing festival, which has attracted some of the best Arabian camels from across the UAE and GCC countries.

Shaikh Mohammad congratulated the owners and trainers on the success of the 2017/2018 season, stressing that camel racing is the sport of the ancestors. “You carry the message of the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan to the next generations of your children and grandchildren. The message is “He who doesn’t have a past, has no present nor future,” said Shaikh Mohammad.

The camel owners and trainers expressed their appreciation and loyalty for Shaikh Mohammad’s wise leadership which spares no efforts to support them.

Meanwhile, Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, attended the fourth day of the Al Marmoum Hertige Festival, at Dubai Camel Racing Club in Marmoum.

The race was also attended by Shaikh Maktoum Bin Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Shaikh Mohammad bin Rashid Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who honoured the winners of the races. Sheikh Saeed bin Jumaa Al Maktoum also attended the races.
