Mohammad Saeed Al Shahi, Racing Manager at Jebel Ali Racecourse, talks us through the string.

Ennaadd (GB) 5yo

By King’s Best/ Zayn Zen by Singspiel
Flat record: 421/111/420-

One of the highest rated horses we have here. He’s 110. He won a couple of Listed in England races beating some very nice horses like Sussex Stakes winner (Here Comes When) at Kempton and Germany 2000 Guineas winner (Knife Edge). He’s one of the highly regarded horses for us.

Wadigor (GB) 5yo

Champs Elysees/ Haven’s Wave by Whipper
Flat record: 11/10-

He’s a lightly-raced horse who was unbeaten in three starts until he ran at Ascot (Duke of Edinburgh Stakes) where the ground was not suitable last year. Very good addition for Jebel Ali. He’s a turf horse and he has been pleasing us with his work.

Yalawin (Ire) 4yo

Lawman/ Urgele by Zafonic
Flat record: 32/124-

A lightly-raced sprinter by Lawman, but he’s very highly-rated. He’s been pleasing us he since he arrived. He should be ready by December. He’s a nice up-and-coming sprinter for Jebel Ali. Has good form on synthetics and should go on both dirt and turf.

Ashwass (USA) 4yo

Lonhro/ Alzerra by Pivotal
Flat record: 61-

He won his maiden by 9 lengths. He’s a very exciting recruit and he’s doing well We hope he will go on dirt as he is by Lonhro, whose offspring have done well on dirt. His maiden win was most impressive.

Horroob (GB) 4yo

Showcasing/ Funny Enough- by Dansili
Flat record: 3/114020-

We hope he is a nice addition to the stable. He’s a seven furlong to mile horse who is by the hot sire Showcasing. He’s highly rated, in the mid-nineties and is lightly raced.

Kaanoon (GB) 3yo)

Bated Breath/ Going For Gold by Barathea
Flat record: 411123

He won three competitive races for Shaikh Ahmad in England this year. He’s a nice big horse. He arrived a few days ago. He’s highly rated and we believe he’s a horse for the Carnival. He’s a nice looking horse and we are very excited to have him

To Wafij (Ire) 3yo

Kodiac/ Rajmahal by Indian Ridge
Flat record: 123366-6

He’s an exciting sprinter. He finished third in the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood. He had some issues earlier this year but is another nice horse to have in the yard. He arrived few weeks ago and has done well since then. I believe he is our trainer, Nicholas’ favorite horse. Compact and nicely put-together individual.

To Dibba (GB) 4yo

Dubawi/ Rose Diamond by Daylami
Flat record: 5/212329-72

A well bred horse by Dubawi. He ran some very nice races in England and is rated 10. He’s a mile and mile and quarter horse. Hopefully he’ll be suited to the Meydan dirt track being by Dubawi.

Masaarr (USA) 3yo

Distorted Humor/ Aryaamm by Galileo
Flat record: 31-3147312

A nice America-bred colt by Distorted Humor. He’s out of a Galileo mare and is rated around 109. He ran some good races at Doncaster in England and Deauville in France. He’s a horse with a nice frame and when he fills up, I think he’ll do well for us.

Eyelool (Ire) 2yo

Dragon Pulse/ Lady Heartbeat by Avonbridge
Flat record: 52121

Shaikh Ahmad saw that we have an interesing programme at Meydan for 3-year-old horses this season. Shaikh Ahmad wanted to bring some young horses to support these races over turf. So even if he doesn’t handle the dirt, we can aim him at the turf.

Giant Hero (USA) 2yo

Giant’s Causeway/ Hollywood Heroine by Medaglia D’Oro
Flat record: 1

He arrived a couple of weeks ago. He’s a good acquisition out of Steve Asmussen’s stable. He’s had just one start, which he won quite well. We hope he will be good enough to compete in the Classics and we’ll start him in the Guineas trial
