Dubai: Wales winger Hal Robson-Kanu says letting his contract expire at Championship side Reading this summer was the best decision of his life.

The 27-year-old from London is now free to assess a string of offers coming from Premier League clubs and beyond after his Euro 2016 performances.

He scored the winner in Wales’ 2-1 opening group stage defeat of Slovakia and a memorable second in the 3-1 quarter-final win over Belgium, which fired the Dragons into Wednesday’s semi-final against Portugal.

“Without doubt, running down my contract at Reading was the best decision of my life,” said Robson-Kanu, who ends a 12-year stay at the Majeski Stadium of his own accord. “Reading wanted me to stay, but I felt it was the right time to move and take my future in my own hands. I always believed in myself.

“We’ve had offers, I’ve made no secret of the fact that my desire is to play in the Premier League again and I think I’ve proved what I can do at the highest level.

“I’m aware of the interest in me now after what has happened. I will sit down after the Euros and make a decision. And that will obviously be a big one for me and my family.”

Premier League champions Leicester City are reportedly chasing his signature along with Swansea City, Watford and Scottish champions Celtic. But, if all else fails, fifth-tier Dover Athletic have also thrown their hat into the ring with this cheeky tweet: “If you’re still looking for a club @RobsonKanu, you’re more than welcome to come and trial for us… DM for more info #WAL.”
