Dubai: Sarfraz Ahmad has hit out at India playing all their matches in Dubai during the Asia Cup regardless if they win or lose.
The Pakistan skipper feels that the scheduling of the Asia Cup has not been thought out properly.
“Even if India lose they will remain here [Dubai] for the Super Four,” he said. “Travelling is an issue, so if you travel for one-and-a-half hours during matches then it’s tough. In this weather it’s tough and then after one day you play another game. I think it should be even for all the teams whether it is India or Pakistan.”
Sarfraz feels that all teams should have played in Abu Dhabi.
“If there are matches in Abu Dhabi then every team has to play there,” he said. “I don’t know what the Asian Cricket Council has done about it.”
When asked whether the team has conveyed their reservations about it, Sarfraz said: “I don’t know but whatever the reservations may be, the PCB would have conveyed them to the ACC.”
To a query on whether Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan would come to watch the match, Sarfraz said: “It will be a great motivation if he comes. If he comes to the ground then it will be good for the fans and a big motivation for our players. He has a big fan following both in India and Pakistan so it will be a great motivation.”
