Once again, the UAE has been rated as one of the safest places in the world to live in. According to the 2017 Global Law and Order report, the country ranked second worldwide with its residents feeling safe, ahead of developed countries such as Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Spain. Those of us who live in this country have known it for a while — the UAE is an oasis of stability and safety with a unique environment that holds attraction for residents and travellers alike. The country’s investment in and special focus on the rule of law and safety for all has translated into an atmosphere of security all around.

Building on its reputation, law enforcement authorities are keen to continue its policies and strategies towards making the country the safest in the world in accordance with the UAE 2021 Vision. Using latest technologies such as artificial intelligence in command rooms and patrols, the police in the UAE has ensured that the crime rate in the country is among the lowest in the world. Average rate of murders in the UAE stands at 0.3 per cent for every 100,000 people — another marker in itself. Consequently, the law enforcement agencies have vowed to leave no stone unturned when it comes to tackling crime and response time to emergencies and deaths on the roads in the UAE.

This was recently reiterated by Major General Dr Abdul Quddus Abdul Razzaq Al Obaidly, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Quality and Excellence, who highlighted the UAE leaders’ vision to enhance people’s feeling of safety so that the country becomes number one in the world in terms of security.
