Abu Dhabi: The Social Responsibility Department at the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), in association with the Emirates Foundation for Youth Development, on Thursday organised an event entitled "Zayed Tribute Campaign" to commemorate Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father and driving force of the nation.
It was part of DCT Abu Dhabi’s initiatives marking the "Year of Zayed".
The event was attended by a large number of employees, who participated by writing down the lessons they had learnt from the vision, wisdom and leadership of Shaikh Zayed on cards, which were then hung on a special ‘Tribute Campaign Tree’.
The event celebrated the achievements of the UAE’s founder, honouring his distinguishing traits as a model of humility, humanity, generosity, courage, leadership, perseverance and will.
The employees wrote about Shaikh Zayed as the leader, father, brother and friend, who brought about prosperity, security and safety for his people and thus remains ‘alive’ in hearts of the nation.
The ‘Zayed Tribute Campaign’ calls on all members of the community to write down the values and lessons that Shaikh Zayed has instilled in them and put them up on the campaign tree.
