Dubai: The weather this weekend is expected to cool down as forecasters predict temperatures to fall to 13 degrees Celsius across the UAE.

On its Twitter account, the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) posted a map of the minimum temperatures recorded from midnight to 8am, which showed the top five coolest areas in the UAE.

The cooler areas included Jais Mountain and Damtha at 16 degrees Celsius, Al Dhaid at 16.4 degrees Celsius, Al Maleha at 17.2 degrees Celsius and Raknah at 17.4 degrees Celsius.

The NCMS issued warnings of fog and mist that covered a large number of roads in the UAE, especially in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

The NCMS also issued a notification about poor visibility of less than 1,000 metres at times due to fog and mist formation.

The weather forecast over the next two days will be fair to partly cloudy in general, while clouds are expected to increase over some western areas.

The maximum weather over the weekend will range from 31 - 35 degrees Celsius in coastal areas, with lows of 19-26 degrees Celsius.

On Wednesday, the lowest temperature was recorded at 13 degrees Celisus in Raknah at 6am.

The NCMS said that northeasterly - northwesterly winds will affect coastal areas at a speed of 12km/h - 22km/h, which may reach 32km/h at times.

Humidity levels will increase during the night and into the early morning over some coastal and internal areas, with a probability of mist formation, over some western areas.
