Abu Dhabi: Slight rain poured down in parts of the UAE on Sunday, as weathermen warned of blowing dust in other parts of the country that could reduce visibility to less than 2,000 metres.

On Sunday, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has advised motorists to take caution while driving as visibility is expected to be less than 2,000 metres, while the sea is also expected to be rought at times.

The centre added that the low visibility is caused by blowing dust and suspended particles over various areas, especially the West, until 8pm on Sunday.

The centre said that today, Monday, there is a chance of convective clouds forming in the east in the afternoon, with some possible rainfall.

Winds will be south-easterly to south-westerly with speeds of 15 - 25 Km/ hr, reaching 38 Km/hr and causing blowing dust or sand at times.

Wave heights will be moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in the Gulf of Oman.
