Dubai: Temperatures warmed up on Friday and Saturday, a sign that hotter climes are upon us.

The current weather, though, remains suitable for outdoor recreation and many residents are enjoying their time at public parks and beaches.

Raknah, near the garden city of Al Ain, recorded the lowest minimum temperature on Saturday (10.8 °C), while the lowest recorded temperature in Sharjah was 14 °C and Ras Al Khaimah at 15.2 °C. The cities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai were in the low 20s.

The UAE's south and south-western sections recorded minimum temperatures of 22.1 °C in Mezairah and 20.7 °C at Madinat Zayed in Abu Dhabi. 

The highest temperature was recorded in Mezairah at 37.1 °C at 1.30pm, on Friday while Madinat Zayed recorded 35.4 °C at 2.30pm.

One sign of rising temperatures: On Friday, the lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Damtha at 9.6 °C. On Saturday, the lowest minimum temperature in the country went slightly up, to 10.8 °C, in Raknah.

Though the weather is getting warmer, forecasters said the it will be fair on Saturday in general, albeit hazy, while the nights will be cool in most areas.

The sea, meanwhile, will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman sea.

Light to moderate winds are also expected to blow across the country on Saturday, and the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea will be slight to moderate.
