Dubai: Various parts of the UAE saw light rain and scattered showers on Thursday morning, with more rain expected to continue over the next two days.

On April 12 and 13, low pressure from the West in the upper layer of the atmosphere is expected to affect the UAE, which will be accompanied with southesterly winds and high levels of humidity.  

Residents were quick to post photos and videos of the sudden rain on social media, which showed the showers that fell over Saih Shuaib and the western area.  

 

In its daily weather forecast, the National Centre of Meteorology said that parts of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Umm Al Quwain and Sharjah saw sporadic rain.

 

 

 

The NCM said there will be more clouds on Friday and Saturday, with rain expected over the northern emirates and in the western region during the weekend.

“The weather will remain partly cloudy and hazy at times, with a large amount of clouds forming over scattered areas, which may be associated with some rainfall,” said the NCM.

The relative humidity is likely to increase by night and into the early morning over some coastal areas, with a minimum of 15 per cent and a maximum of 85 per cent.

The temperature until Saturday will ranging from 22C-37C in coastal areas, 20-40C in internal areas and 16C-28C in the mountain region.

Seas will be moderate to rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea, with offshores waves to reach as high as 8ft.

Northeasterly-southeasterly winds will pick up over the mountain areas at a speed of 16-30km/h, which may at times reach 45km/h.
