Dubai: The onset of cooler climes is unmistakable — the mercury has been on the way down across the UAE.

The UAE town of Damtha, near Al Ain, saw 16.1 degrees Celsius, the coolest so far on Sunday.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS), the temperature in Jebel Jais, the country's tallest mountain, was down to 18.1 degrees Celsius — the same level seen in Al Dhaid town. Shuaibah was a bit lower, at 18 degrees Celsius.

The average temperatures were measured from midnight to 8am on Sunday.

Early morning fog was also seen over Sweihan on Sunday.

Cloud cover is expected over the eastern areas of the country by Sunday afternoon.

For the rest of the day, the weather will be mostly fair, with light to moderate winds expected, and partly cloudy in the east.

Meanwhile, relative humidity is likely to increase during the night and early morning on Monday — with a chance of another foggy day, especially over the country's western areas.
