Dubai: Residents who woke up to a spell of rain on Wednesday after the sandstorm and dusty weather earlier in the week can expect more showers on Thursday.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecast light to moderate rain early on Thursday, the beginning of Ramadan.

Respite

Residents had a respite from the dusty weather after scattered rains across the country early on Wednesday.

The weather remained cloudy for most part of the day while the temperature dipped considerably.

Residents enjoyed the pleasant change in the weather and many shared photos and videos of the rain on social media.

Fall in temperature

The NCM recorded 2-5 degrees Celsius fall in the temperature. The maximum temperature was between 33C and 40C, while the minimum temperature was in the range of 24C to 29C.

No significant change in temperature is expected on Thursday, the weather bureau said.

Weather will be partly cloudy and hazy at times and north westerly winds, reaching up to 50km/h at times, especially over the sea, may blow dust over exposed areas.

Humid weather

The weather on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be fair to partly cloudy and hazy. North westerly to westerly winds reaching up to 40km/h at times will make the sea rough on Friday. It will become moderate by Saturday morning.

Sunday morning may see humid weather with a chance of fog over some internal and coastal areas.
