Dubai: A dust storm hit parts of the UAE on Sunday, with the weather bureau saying that the unstable and dusty weather is expected to continue until 9pm.
The UAE’s Met Office on Sunday cautioned residents about southwesterly to northwesterly winds that will blow at a speed of 14-32 km/h, which may peak up to 38 km/h, and bring about dusty weather and hazy conditions.

Motorists were also urged to take caution as the dust conditions will bring visibility to a range of 2,000 to 3,000 metres across UAE roads.

The weather until Tuesday is expected to be “very hot and hazy”, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), with moderate gusts of winds and scattered dust to affect the northern and coastal areas.

The hot weather will continue to touch highs of 40s, with a maximum temperature of 49 degrees Celsius in internal areas with humidity levels of 55-75 per cent. The coastal and mountain areas will reach a maximum of 44 degrees Celsius and 38 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels ranging from 60 to 90 per cent and 40-70 per cent respectively.
On Saturday, the highest temperature in the UAE was found in Al Dhaid at 48.9C. The top four maximum temperatures were also recorded at 48.4C in Mezaira, 48C in Al Wathba, 48 in Saih Al Salem and 47.9C in Madinat Zayed.

The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.
