Sharjah: Sharjah Police will donate proceeds from the auction of three distinguished number plates to the Big Heart Foundation projects, it was announced on Thursday.

The three distinguished numbers will be part of 55 plates which will be auctioned on April 21 at Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre at 4pm.

The distinguished numbers are 111, 303 and 3333. Bids for these numbers start at Dh150,000, Dh35,000 and Dh60,000 respectively.

Bidders can also buy other plates such as 13, 30, 44, 115, 131, 210, 311, 456, 500, 609, 696 and 990. There is only one six-digit number plate — 100000.

The announcement was made during a press conference held at Sharjah Police Headquarters on Thursday in the presence of Shaikh Sultan Bin Ahmad Al Qasimi, chairman of the Sharjah Media Council and the Big Heart Foundation Humanitarian Envoy; Major-General Saif Ziri Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police; Abdullah Mattar Al Mannai, chairman of the Board of Directors of Emirates Auction; Mariam Al Hammadi, director of the Big Heart Foundation.

Shaikh Sultan Bin Ahmad said: “We are highly appreciative of this charitable initiative by Sharjah Police to support the humanitarian efforts spearheaded by the Big Heart Foundation, which contributes to the development of projects serving people in crisis around the world.”

He said the foundation has a mission to strengthen cooperation with various government and international agencies as well as UN humanitarian organisations to provide a safe environment for children and their families.

Meanwhile, Maj-Gen Al Shamsi said the Big Heart Foundation is now one of the most important humanitarian aid organisations for children and their families at regional and international levels.

He also emphasised that the Sharjah Police’s initiative affirms its commitment to the foundation’s efforts, reflecting the emirate’s contribution in spreading goodness, love and understanding in all parts of the world.
