Sharjah: Paid parking zones all over Sharjah will be free of charge for two days in celebration of New Year, Sharjah Municipality announced.
The free parking are for December 31 and January 1.
Ahmed Ali Abu Gasen, Director General of parking section, said the decision, which covers all areas of Sharjah, aims to create the ideal atmosphere to celebrate the new year and provide all elements of comfort and happiness for residents and visitors who come to participate in the events.
He also warned against misusing parking spaces and added that inspectors will be making rounds to insure no violations are committed.
Meanwhile, the working hours in the parking department have been modified in response to the desire of a large number of clients.
The new timing from Sunday to Thursday, will be from 7am to 2pm, instead of the previous working hours 7:30 am to 2:30 pm.
The new timing will be activated from Tuesday, January 2.
