Dubai: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, has challenged the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and the and Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) – and they’ve responded.

Shaikh Hamdan’s Fitness Challenge aims to make Dubai the most active city in the world, by having residents and visitors participate in a 30-minute workout for 30 days.

Both the RTA and Dewa have accepted the 30-day Fitness Challenge, days after Emirates airline and Dubai Police also agreed to the challenge, which starts on October 20.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and chief executive officer of Dewa, responded by saying: "Your Highness Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, we at Dubai Electricity and Water Authority are ready and we accept the Dubai Fitness Challenge."

The RTA plastered their response across the metro, bus, tram, and taxi, saying: “We accept the challenge.”

The call for Dubai’s greatest fitness challenge was made on October 2, after Shaikh Hamdan urged citizens, residents and visitors to join the month-long event, which includes free workout classes and activities.
