Dubai: Pakistan Association Dubai is carrying out a series of activities this Ramadan to help underprivileged community members through the holy month.

The activities range from supporting a thousand deserving families with food packages to arranging and distributing iftar packets weekly in labour accommodation clusters in collaboration with the Community Development Authority.

“Ramadan is a month of sharing and giving; we feel the social and moral responsibility of standing with the less privileged of our community,” said Shahid ul Islam, member of the welfare committee at PAD.

Among the activities to be carried out this month are: distribution of Ramadan food packages to 1,000 families, each worth Dh300; helping release prisoners and repatriate them; distribution of 1,800 iftar packets weekly at labour accommodation complexes in collaboration with the CDA; arranging daily iftar meals for nearly 250 people at the Pakistani mosque; organising the ‘Iftar for a Cause’ in support of Pakistan Centre; filling up the Ramadan Fridge in Oud Metha; and a mosque cleaning activity on June 1.

“We have an array of services catering to every segment of the society ensuring that no deserving person is left unattended. In addition, we encourage the privileged members of the community to step up their contributions in Ramadan,” said Rizwan Fancy, director, Public Relations, PAD.
