Dubai: Landmark Group, the retail and hospitality conglomerate, is donating Dh3 million, including over Dh1.5 million worth of goods channelled through Emirates Red Crescent, to help fund relief and rehabilitation work in the flood-affected state of Kerala, India.
The goods include essential items like blankets and towels, as well as footwear and clothing for women, men and children, from different brands such as Babyshop, Max and Lifestyle.
“Our deepest sympathies are with all those who have been affected by the devastating floods in Kerala. We are hopeful that our contribution in India & UAE will make a positive difference to the state and its people,” said Renuka Jagtiani, chairwoman and CEO of the Landmark Group.
The group has already distributed 30,000 units of essential goods, including food items, cookware and clothing to non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in affected areas as immediate aid, along with an additional Dh1.5 million in cash, which has been earmarked for two NGOs in India.
“We are especially concerned about our employees and their families who are affected in the recent calamity and we will continue to ensure the group’s full support for them,” said Jagtiani.
