Fujairah: Fujairah Police have issued a warning to motorists and visitors against driving or parking their cars and motorbikes on the Umbrella Beach in the emirate.

Visitors can park their vehicles in the allocated area before the barriers in the beach zone.

Police patrols will be deployed along the beach to ensure that no one is violating this decision. Those who break the rule will be fined Dh1,000, slapped with eight black points and their vehicles confiscated for seven days, police said.

This decision was taken after residents and beachgoers reported to police that their lives are in danger as motorists drive recklessly and perform stunts along the beach.

One of the residents, Omar Al Matroushi, told Gulf News that his three daughters were almost run over recently because of some reckless drivers.

He praised the decision and said, “I hope that police patrols would be stationed at the beach. I hope that the decision is enforced at Qadifia and Al Faqit beaches as well.”
