Dubai: Al Khail Gate community in Al Quoz will soon be made a paid parking zone, Gulf News has learnt.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will shortly take over the management of parking spaces within Al Khail Gate community, the property management team has notified the tenants in a community announcement.

When contacted, the management confirmed to Gulf News that it has entered into a paid parking partnership with the RTA.

“Our decision to partner with the RTA is geared towards providing optimal parking facilities, ensuring long-term benefits,” the management said in a statement to Gulf News.

“At Al Khail Gate we are committed to continually focusing our efforts to enhance the living standards for all our residents and facilitating an enriched living environment … We are confident this will bring a positive impact on the availability and ease of parking at Al Khail Gate,” it added.

The move follows constant complaints from tenants about difficulties in find parking at night and frequent fines they received as they had been forced to violate parking rules due to the lack of parking spaces in the community.

In the notification to the tenants, the management said it had been working towards providing a solution to address the parking concerns raised by the residents. “Our primary focus is to discourage non-residential vehicles that are often parked for long periods within the community,” it said while announcing the shifting of the management of parking spaces to the RTA.

Tenants have been told that the residents’ parking permits can be availed directly from the RTA which will issue communication outlining the registration process and timelines.

“We hope and believe that this will make parking more accessible to you, our valued tenants in a timely manner. We appreciate your continuous support in making Al Khail Gate a better place to live in,” the management’s email said.

Gulf News could not get an immediate comment about this from RTA.

Developed by Dubai Properties, Al Khail Gate has over 9,000 apartments spread in two phases of the community.
