Abu Dhabi: Emirati parents can obtain all official documents for their newborn babies through an accelerated service that is now being offered at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children, a private health care facility in the capital.
The one-visit provision of services is already available at most public hospitals, and furnishes parents with required documents like the birth certificate, passport, Emirates ID, and an updated family book and population register. Known as Mabrouk Ma Yak, the emirate’s health sector regulator, the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, announced that it is keen on offering a similar level of service at private hospitals as well.
“The service of issuing birth certificates at hospitals was launched earlier this year within private sector facilities. The implementation of Mabrouk Ma Yak will save further time and effort for parents of newborns,” said Abdullah Al Hamed, chairman of the department.
The process of obtaining the documents starts when the family data is entered from documents submitted to the hospital in the mother’s file after giving birth. A visit to the Mabrouk Ma Yak service in the hospital then allows parents to fill in some information and have a photo of the baby taken. An SMS message containing an electronic link will then be sent to the parents to complete the request electronically by simple and easy steps. Following this, parents will be instructed to collect all relevant documents for the baby from the Ministry of Interior.
