Dubai: The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a dialysis centre in Al Twar area on Tuesday.

The centre that will cost Dh30 million aims to provide quality dialysis services to people with limited means.

Humaid Mohammad Obaid Al Qutami, chairman of the Board and director-general of the DHA, and Dr Hamad Al Sheibani, director-general of the Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, signed the MoU on the sidelines of the Dubai International Government Achievement Exhibition in the presence of officials from supporting parties from Beit Al Khair Society, Dar Al Beir Society and Dubai Charity Association.

The MoU is in line with Dubai Government’s efforts to collaborate with other authorities and government entities to provide the best health, social and humanitarian services.

“The authority is keen on collaborating with different entities that share the goals of the Dubai Government and vision in order to achieve customer satisfaction,” said Al Qutami.

He added that this partnership would provide the best prevention and treatment services for kidney disease to people with limited means who need regular dialysis, with the support of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department.

Al Qutami stressed that the department is keen to build bridges of cooperation and strengthen its relations with all institutions to serve the Government of Dubai’s strategy, achieve its desired goals, and promote a climate of decent and safe living for all members of society.
