Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has offered to cover the full cost of treatment for a UAE citizen’s battle with cancer.

In an emotionally charged video, an Emirati took to social media to request assistance on behalf of his brother Hamdan, who is currently receiving treatment in Bangkok, Thailand.

"I am in Bangkok with my brother Hamdan, who is receiving medical treatment against cancer. We have been in Bangkok for a whole month and my brother has been fighting cancer of the lymphatic gland, the pharynx and the spine,” he said.

“The treatment is very expensive here. We gave hamdan’s medical report to the concerned authorities, as well as to the UAE Embassy, in search for medical assistance but the process is taking too long for us to bear. I plea to my brothers and leaders to help us with the cost, as each session is Dh9,000-10,000.”

Within three hours, the man updated his online video as he graciously accepted the kindness and generosity of Shaikh Mohammad who offered to pay for all the medical costs.

"My brothers in the UAE, after two and a half hours of posting the video, we received a great response from His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's has informed us of Shaikh Mohammad’s instructions, and we are sincerely grateful for his compassion and generosity.”
