Dubai:His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, discussed on Friday, cooperation and partnership strategies with President Xi Jinping of China.

During the meeting, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid welcomed the Chinese President and his accompanying delegation to the UAE.

Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid affirmed that these talks reflect the emphasis the two countries place on developing strategic partnerships. UAE-China ties have a strong foundation to begin a new phase of cooperation across multiple sectors that reflect and support the aspirations of the peoples of the two friendly nations, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid added.

The UAE and China share a strong political determination to start a new and bigger phase of cooperation and integration, tweeted Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid.

“Today we held discussions with President Xi Jinping of China and his accompanying delegation. The UAE and China have a political and economic consensus and a strong foundation for projects in the field of energy, technology and infrastructure,” tweeted Shaikh Mohammad on Friday.

The UAE-China talks are an important milestone for historical ties that join the two countries, which were founded by the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, he said, noting that he accompanied the late ruler on the first state visit to China 28 years ago.

“I was there 28-years ago, during the first official visit to China by the UAE’s founding father the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Today, the UAE and China share ideal relations, and the Chinese leadership views the UAE as a key strategic partner in the region. We are connected with China through 100 daily flights a week, and we partially link China’s trade with the rest of the world through 444 cities with direct routes,” Shaikh Mohammad tweeted.

The UAE Vice President noted the ideas contained in President Xi’s book on governance and administration, and how the government has a role in ensuring the happiness of its people, as well as the importance of enhancing the capabilities of its youth and society as a whole via innovative ideas.

“We can learn a lot from China’s development experience. I read the book of the Chinese President Xi on leadership and management. He wrote about the role of the government in making its people happy, the important role of youth, his strong belief in soft power, and about innovation and technology’s role in the future. We are similar to China in management methods and philosophies.”
