MUKALLA: Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) team members have continued their distribution of iftar meals to underprivileged persons and families in Yemen’s Mukalla and its suburbs.

The distribution of food aid during Ramadan is in line with an ERC project to ensure the provision of meals to individuals, as supported by Shaikha Latifa Bint Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, wife of Shaikh Mohammad Bin Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.

The ERC teams are distributing 2,000 meals a day in the city of Mukalla, the capital of the Governorate of Hadramout, and its rural and remote areas.

Ahmad Al Niyadi, head of the ERC team in Hadramout, said the aid work will continue throughout Ramadan, with the aim of benefiting over 20,000 individuals.

The iftar distribution project is in line with the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with the aim to support Yemen’s citizens, and the teachings of Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) to assist individuals in need.
