Dubai: Dar Al Ber Society has offered more than Dh26.8 million in assistance to some 3,500 low-income and needy families in the first nine months of 2018.

Mohammad Suhail Al Muhairi, head of the Community Service Sector at Dar Al Ber, said: “The beneficiaries included citizens and residents in the UAE from many Arab, Asian, African and other nationalities from all emirates including 565 needy students (paying their education fees) costing Dh5.25 million in addition to bearing the cost of treatment of 409 patients at Dh8.4 million.”

The beneficiaries also included 42 needy families, whose water and electricity bills worth Dh160,000 was paid by the society, and other 659 needy families whose rent amounting to Dh 5.2 million was taken care of in addition to other 893 humanitarian and social cases valued at Dh7.9 million.
