I have been reading Gulf News for the past 27 years and it’s great to see that the publication has been consistent in improving and improvising not only its journalistic side but also the style of presenting it to its readers over the last couple of years. Gulf News has successfully taken print journalism a notch higher by covering not only local stories but also correctly reporting facts from across the world, together with providing the right dose of entertainment and interestingly crafted op-ed columns. At the regional level, I prefer nothing but Gulf News!”

I have always been a Gulf News reader and am pleased to see that it has evolved over the years taking into account the changing landscape of the print media world. Gulf News is one of the global newspapers featured on Sky News’ Meet the Press segment when they review headlines around the world. This, I would imagine, is recognition of its stature. Congratulations to Gulf News and best wishes for continued success. Keep evolving.”

I read Gulf News regularly and can say that it has changed a lot over time to make for better reading. The newspaper’s strengths have been its branding and the ability to build relationships. With excellent presentation, it has changed reading habits especially through its business section, a must read for those from the business community. Gulf News has always been an excellent paper and I wish it all the best on the occasion of celebrating 35 years.”

I was there in 1978 when Gulf News was first published. There’s not much to say if I am still enjoying it with my morning coffee. Over the years Gulf News has become a habit… defined as a tendency that is hard to give up! When flying Emirates back to Dubai, my first request to the flight attendant is for a copy of Gulf News. For me continuous improvement is what characterises the Gulf News approach to providing increasing reader satisfaction. The willingness to effect change (the online version is equally readable!), the readiness to experiment: these are the signature practices of a progressive organisation. And that’s what keeps me loyal to GN.”

According to me, Gulf News serves as a chronicle of the UAE’s progress and of the things that matter to this society. I enjoy reading the paper and I think it stands independently in its own right. It reflects the opinions and views of key events happening in the region and internationally. As a newspaper it is constantly evolving to offer something new to its vastly international audience. Gulf News has always been fair in its reporting. Over time the team has continued to enhance their content and style to keep it interesting and relevant, which is a great practice. Of course, its circulation is also a great strength. I would like to wish the team at Gulf News the very best of luck for years to come.”

I remember the times when street hawkers sold newspapers at traffic lights in Dubai. We always admired the boys carrying so many copies of Gulf News and running after cars. We used to distribute cold drinks/water to them in summer. Gulf News has a lot of firsts to its credit and is always striving to improve content and the way it is presented. I get all the English newspapers delivered at home, but it is Gulf News that I pick up first to read. My first cuppa is always with Gulf News, and my impression and perception has changed with the times, and for the better. Over the years, whenever we need any information/breaking news, we have thought of Gulf News, in whichever part of the world we might be in. When it comes to tabloid! or Friday magazine, there is always a tussle with the wife. Nowadays, even the maid eagerly looks forward to new recipes in Friday!”

President, ITL Cosmos

To me, GN is like a cute child. For a senior person of my age who has seen enterprises being born and nurtured, I would call it a child — of course out of love. I vividly remember Gulf News’ birth in tabloid form. I remember the change of hands. And I vividly remember Mr Obaid Al Tayer’s contribution in bringing the paper to its present level. Change is the most changeless law of life. GN has significantly evolved in these 35 years and is easily comparable with any international daily. Dividing the paper into several sections, independently folded, was indeed a smart move, allowing individual family members to enjoy the content of their choice.
Dubai hosts so many nationalities, each having their own aspirations. Yet, coverage given to each section of the world community is indeed marvellous and praiseworthy. I am impressed with GN’s world-class editorials that help assess global situations in a most mature manner.”

Chief Executive Officer, Al Tayer Motors

My day starts with the business section of Gulf News, for the latest across various sectors. The mix of articles from leading personalities in different spheres of business is informative and interesting. My day ends with the sections on Bridge and Sudoku. My better half tends to favour the main newspaper and tabloid! for updates from around the world.
Gulf News has evolved over time to be one of the better newspapers in the UAE and is well-balanced, providing an interesting mix of news from around the world that appeals to readers of the many nationalities who call the UAE home. Compared to other newspapers, Gulf News certainly has an edge in covering local and regional news. The website is also well designed and up-to-date with breaking news. Keep up the good work; we look forward to many more years of great coverage and information.”
