Abu Dhabi: A total of 864 kilograms of construction waste, and discarded plastic and glass, have recently been collected from workers’ accommodation near the Al Wathba Wetland Reserve, the Environment Agency — Abu Dhabi (EAD) announced in a statement sent on Sunday.

The waste was collected by 100 EAD employees during a four-hour clean-up campaign aimed at protecting the nature reserve, which is home to 320 species of invertebrates, 10 mammals, 16 reptiles, 260 species of birds, including breeding flamingoes, and 35 species of plants.
