Abu Dhabi: The Corniche Beach Parks in Abu Dhabi have been recognised as one of the premier recreational spots in the capital with the awarding of the Green Flag last week, the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City announced in a statement.

The park joins four other venues in Abu Dhabi city — Dalma Park, Umm Al Emarat Park, Khalifa Park and Al Rahba Park — which have been certified since 2015 with the Green Flag, an international set of standards for gardens and outdoor recreational spaces.

The newly conferred Green Flag means that the Corniche Beach Park serves as a welcome place for visitors and has adequate safety measures in place. Hygiene and upkeep of the facilities is also regularly maintained ensuring that it meets sustainability and cultural standards.

The municipality statement added that a three-year plan has also been drawn up to ensure that all other public parks in the city soon comply with Green Flag standards.
