Ras Al Khaimah: An Asian man died on the spot after being run over by a speeding car in Ras Al Khaimah on Monday night, Ras Al Khaimah Police official said on Tuesday.
Brigadier Hassan Ebrahim, Deputy Director of the central operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police, said the accident took place in front of Al Hamra Mall in Shaikh Mohammad Bin Salem Road.
The Asian victim in his 30’s succumbed to his injuries and pronounced dead at the accident site. The speeding vehicle was driven by another Asian man.
Brig. Ebrahim said man who caused the accident was not licensed to drive the vehicle.
The deceased tired to cross the road from undesignated area without making sure the road is clear of vehicles.
Police patrols and paramedics moved to the scene of the incident after police operation room received call over the incident at 9pm.
The victim’s body was transferred to a hospital morgue while the Asian driver has been taken into police custody for interrogation.
