Dubai: The second edition of the Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz, conducted by India’s Ministry of External Affairs, will be held from July 19 to July 21.

The title of the quiz loosely translates as “familiarise yourself with India”. The website for the second edition is now live on www.bharatkojaniye.in.

The quiz is expected to attract participation of more than 100,000 youth from Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) across the world, including in the UAE.

The quiz will be held online for the two categories of NRIs and PIOs who were born between January 1, 1984 and January 1, 2004. There is no entry fee for participation and participants will not be asked to make any payments at any stage of the quiz.

The quiz will be conducted in four rounds. The first round of the quiz will be conducted by the Indian missions outside India and the second, third and fourth rounds will be conducted by the Ministry of External Affairs. The top three contenders or participants of the first round from each category of NRIs and PIOs will qualify for the second round. The second round will be conducted online, while the third and fourth rounds will be held in India.

The top 10 candidates from each category of NRI and PIO from the second round will be invited for a 15-day Bharat Ko Janiye Yatra. The Government of India will bear the international airfare and all expenses including board and lodging. Participants will visit Delhi, Agra and one state for familiarisation.

The registration on the quiz portal is mandatory for every contestant. The Consulate General of India in Dubai has encouraged all those who are eligible to participate in the quiz. Further details are available on the quiz portal and the consulate website (www.cgidubai.gov.in)
