Sharjah: The Sharjah Police Commander-in-chief said police have solved an issue surrounding British inmates who were on a hunger strike.

Foreign media reported that Ahmad Zaidan, 23, was convicted on a drug charge in 2014.

Brigadier Saif Ziri Al Shamsi, Commonder-in-chief of Sharjah Police , said the British youth had been on a hunger strike as he wanted to communicate with his embassy.

He added that the administration of the Sharjah Punitive and Rehabilitation Centre had communicated with the British Embassy and a representative was sent to solve the inmate's problem.
