Dubai: A man, who lured a jobseeker to his residence and coerced her to get naked in his bedroom, has been accused of attempted rape.

The 26-year-old Filipina accountant was said to have met up with the 46-year-old Emirati man, who claimed that he runs a tourism company and wanted to hire her there as an accountant in January.

Shortly after she called up the man, he picked her up and drove her around Burj Khalifa, according to records, where he told her that his company was based.

The suspect took the Filipina to his villa in Al Rashidya after he kept her under the impression that they would wait for other employees to take them all to their company-provided residence.

Once the two entered a room in the villa, the suspect started touching the woman and making sexual advancements that she rejected, said records.

Afraid of the man’s body size, the accountant was scared to resist the 46-year-old Emirati, who made her remove her clothes and attempted to rape her.

When he failed in his attempt, the suspect beat the woman and forced her to perform bizarre acts.

Attempting to outsmart the Emirati by pretending to be cooperating with him, she discretely tried to call the police from her phone on which the suspect beat her once again.

Records said when the woman tried to fool the man the second time but he beat her hard and grabbed her neck. Then he struck her with a stick and yelled at her for sometime but when she yelled back at him he allowed her to leave the room.

Walking out of the room barefoot, the woman reported the matter to the police immediately.

Police apprehended the suspect at around 4am.

Prosecutors accused the suspect of attempted rape.

According to the accusation sheet, prosecutors said the suspect failed to fulfil his desires due to biological reasons.

The suspect pleaded not guilty when he appeared before the Dubai Court of First Instance on Sunday.

The Filipina told prosecutors that she agreed to meet her potential employer who had promised to hire her for a Dh5,500 salary.

“He told me that I will start work the next day … then he drove me to Down Town Dubai and pointed towards Burj Khalifa that I will work there. He took me to his villa saying that we would be waiting for other co-workers to drive us later to the company accommodation. Then he attempted to have sex with me but he failed to fulfil his desires. He threatened and beat me,” she told prosecutors.

A police officer who questioned the man said the suspect told him that he agreed to have consensual sex with the woman, whom he met at a metro station.

Presiding judge Mohammad Jamal said the court will appoint a lawyer to defend the suspect when it reconvenes on May 8.
