Dubai: A driver has been jailed for six months for luring a schoolboy from a mall to his car where he kissed and groped him before he made the boy also please him sexually.

The 16-year-old Indian schoolboy met the 39-year-old Pakistani driver at The Dubai Mall when he was leaving the washroom in September.

Following a quick chat, the driver took the schoolboy to his car in the parking lot and spent some time there.

The Dubai Court of First Instance convicted the accused of kissing the boy’s hand and face, groping him and forcing him to touch him indecently.

Records said the defendant gave a water bottle to the schoolboy to wash his hands and tidy himself up after the abuse.

According to Monday’s ruling, presiding judge Urfan Omar said the defendant will be deported after serving his jail term.

The boy rushed back to his father’s shop in the mall and told him about the incident, said records.

The father informed the mall’s security guards about the incident and the matter was reported to the police.

Police arrested the accused within a short period of time.

When he appeared in court, the defendant pleaded not guilty.

The boy said he bumped into the accused around 12 noon while leaving the mall’s washroom.

“He asked me first about my name and where I was born … then he asked me to go with him to his car. We went to his car and I sat with him in the passenger’s seat. We spoke a bit and then he kissed my hand and then my lips. Then he groped me and made me touch his private parts. Then he gave me a bottle of water to wash my hands … when I returned to my dad’s shop, I told him about the incident and informed the mall’s security guards about it,” the schoolboy testified.

A police sergeant said during questioning the defendant admitted that he kissed the schoolboy and made him satisfy his sexual desire.

“The boy identified the accused thrice in the police line-up … he claimed that the defendant groped him against his will,” the sergeant said.

Monday’s judgement remains subject to appeal within 15 days.
