Occupied West Bank: A Palestinian was shot dead by a Jewish colonist in the Occupied West Bank on Sunday.

Israeli occupation police claim the man tried to stab an Israeli with a screwdriver near a petrol station.

The murder took place at the Mishor Adumim industrial zone, which is connected to a nearby Jewish colony east of Occupied Jerusalem, a police statement said.

The Palestinian was taken to a hospital in Occupied Jerusalem in serious condition, medics said.

Tensions have risen along the Israel-Gaza border since the start of protests there on March 30 that have led to clashes in which Israeli forces have killed 30 Palestinians.

There have been no Israeli casualties.

Low-level protests and clashes have also occurred in the Occupied West Bank.

Israeli oppression of Palestinians and colony building on Palestinian land has instensified in recent years which has sparked the passions and anger of Palestinians living under brutal occupation.

‘Lone-wolf’ Palestinians have carried out several acts of resistance as a result.
