Occupied Jerusalem: An Israeli drone has crashed in southern Lebanon due to a technical malfunction, the regime’s military said on Saturday, after Hezbollah media labelled it a “spy” device.
The regime said that the drone crash in an open area on Friday night posed “no risk of leaked information”. It provided no further details.
Hezbollah television station Al Manar reported that the “spy drone” fell between Baraachit and Beit Yahoun in southern Lebanon.
It said that “a second spy plane targeted it with a guided missile, which resulted in it being destroyed”.
The Israeli regime and Shiite militant group Hezbollah fought a devastating war in 2006 and the two remain bitter enemies.
In September, the Israeli regime shot down a Hezbollah surveillance drone that veered too close to the Syrian border with Israel. The occupation army said the unmanned aircraft was Iranian-made and launched from a Damascus airport before it was shot down near the Israeli-occupied side of the Golan Heights.
