Riyadh: Rules on the use of recreational drones are being finalised in Saudi Arabia, according to a senior official. 

A spokesman of the Ministry of Interior told the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on Sunday has pointed out that the regulations on using remote-controlled "drones" are in their final stages and being prepared for approval.

The official also called on enthusiasts using recreational drones to obtain the necessary permission from the police their neighbourhoods which would then authorise them to use drones for specific purposes and in permitted sites.

The spokesman said that this measure will be temporary until the issuance of permanent the regulations, the SPA reported.
