Islamabad: A Polish tourist who had created quite a stir in Pakistani media on the eve of the country’s Independence Day by dancing in an empty PIA plane wearing a green shirt and white trousers while holding a Pakistani flag has finally spoken about the act.

In the video footage, Eva Blanka Zubeck can be seen dancing with Pakistani flag tied around her waist, appearing as if she were walking in the air.

The footage also showed a PIA passenger aircraft, indicating it was waiting for the passengers to board so that it could fly them to Gilgit, Skardu and Hunza.

Eva has been in the country for last six months and is in no mood to leave early.

She says it is a country of wonderful people and places, particularly its northern areas and that there are vast untapped tourism opportunities here.

“With my performance in that brief video clip, I wanted to show how much I loved Pakistan. The country is a beautiful place to visit,” she said.

“I would really love to bring tourism here, particularly in the northern areas which are extremely beautiful, “ she said. “Pakistan is not a country that foreigners usually think of. It is quite a peaceful, beautiful place,” she said.

After that video clip — which was shot in Karachi — was shown on a number of TV channels, there was a public uproar. Some TV anchorpersons even described it as a conspiracy to desecrate the country’s flag.

‘Pakistan fan’

“I have met the local people and got to know their language, culture, and traditional cuisine,” Eva said. She has also visited Karachi and Islamabad and says she has fallen in love with Karachi’s biryani and the ‘Chicken Karachi’ dish.

She has also learnt a number of basic Urdu phrases like “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Mera naam Eva hai.” (My name is Eva). She has called her visit to Pakistan the most intense trip of her life. Working for the European Union, she is currently based in the UK.

She plans to showcase Pakistan’s tourism to the outer world, to attract the maximum number of foreign tourists here. “In fact, I am planning to live here for that purpose,” said Eva.
