Dubai: Everyone is sick of the viral ‘In My Feelings’ or #KikiChallenge that has plagued the internet, and so is the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Virar, Mumbai.
They recently arrested YouTubers, Nishant Rajendra Shah (20), Dhruv Anil Shah (23), and Shyam Rajkumar Sharma (24) for a dangerous video they posted on their channel “Funcho Entertanment”.
Their video was a hit on social media and it was seen more than 2 million times on YouTube. It was also trending on Twitter as fans shared links of the “hilarious” performance.
In the video, the trio are seen participating in the challenge and their own interpretation included running along a moving train while two people hung out the door to film it. The video also features an ambulance.
The RPF tracked down the performers and arrested them yesterday. What got the attention of the authorities was a particular stunt in the video wherein the trio is seen performing on the earlier mentioned ambulance. An investigating team has tracked down the owner of the ambulance, as stated by newspaper, Times of India.
An official said that the three YouTubers were “in tears” when they were arrested by police. The three were given a penalty for breaking the law at the Vasai railway court, and have been ordered to do the following:
- Clean up the Vasai railway station three times this week,
- Visit the stations from 11am to 2pm and from 3 to 5pm to prevent other commuters from practicing such stunts,
- Film themselves raising awareness against such stunts and show it as proof to the court.
While the YouTubers have not given an official announcement on their channel, they posted a comment on YouTube: “Everything is fine guys. We’re all good. You’ll get all the updates of what exactly happened and everything in one of our upcoming video. Till then stay tuned.”
When the challenge became viral over the past few months, a lot of people online had interpreted it in different ways, some were dangerous and many people were seriously injured while attempting the craze. Many celebrities joined the bandwagon.
In the UAE, the #KikiChallenge is banned and can lead to a Dh2,000 fine and 23 black points.
