Julien Macdonald flies to Abu Dhabi with Etihad Airways

Acclaimed British designer Julien Macdonald was in Abu Dhabi on Monday night to celebrate his latest association with Etihad Airways.

The event, held at the airline’s Innovation Training Academy, showcased some of Macdonald’s creations via a catwalk show, and was also attended by renowned stylist Karl Plewka and UAE-based designers.

The airline is a sponsor of 17 annual fashion weeks around the world, including the ongoing New York Fashion Week. It recently released an in-flight film featuring 17 of Macdonald’s couture outfits, which draws parallels between the production of a high-end fashion show and the preparation that goes into ensuring a safe and comfortable flight. The film was directed by award-winning director Paul Butterworth.
