Here are some new launches in make-up and skincare that have caught our eye this week:

Glow like Rihanna

I didn’t need a body luminiser a couple of weeks ago, but I do now, thanks to Fenty Beauty’s summer launch, Beach Please. The line is all about shimmering skin and if you follow the always-glowing Rihanna on social media, she has not made it easy to ignore these products. There are two gel-based body creams called Body Lava (Dh260) — Who Needs Clothes?!, a rose gold shade and Brown Sugar, a bronze shade. They both have light-diffusing micropearls and a hint of colour. They even have a floral vanilla scent — yum! In a throwback to the ‘90s, there’s also a pom pom filled with glitter called Fairy Bomb (Dh210). To buff all this goodness in, a kabuki brush (Dh170) is also being launched. Available at Sephora.

Under-eye treat

Sheet masks are every beauty buff’s weekend treat, but what I’m really keen on is eye masks to tackle my constantly puffy and dry under-eye area. The new product from skincare brand HydroPeptide is right up my alley. The PolyPeptide Collagel eye mask contains anti-ageing and hydrating ingredients such as peptides hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, Vitamin A, Niacinamide and Vitamin E. I imagine these would feel extra soothing if applied right out of the fridge. Available at Tao Spa Dubai, Jam Beauty Lounge Dubai, The Spa Radisson Blu Yas Island Abu Dhabi and Rossano Ferretti Hair Spa in Abu Dhabi.

It’s a stick up

Lancome’s new launch takes the popular Teint Idole Ultra Wear liquid foundation and turns it into an ultra-convenient and modern stick foundation, the Teint Idole Ultra Wear Stick. Used by make-up artists and beauty bloggers alike, the original liquid foundation is known for having a great shade range and coverage that can hide every little blemish, so the stick formula seems promising. The formula also has a natural matte look. It comes in 20 shades (the liquid foundation, however, has 40 shades) and can also be used as a contour and highlight. Dh200.

Lashing out

A set of fake eyelashes specially made for people with small eyes is something we didn’t know was needed. But Pinky Goat saw a gap that needed filling and they’ve come out with a set called Al Maha that is designed for small, rounded eyes. The lash starts with shorter hairs on the inner corner and sweeps outwards to create an almond eye shape. The lash can be used up to 10 times. No mascara required! Dh45 on pinkygoat.com

Lippie love

If you’re looking to support a Middle Eastern beauty brand and stock up on some new lipstick shades, then look no further. Kuwaiti beauty brand K7L has launched new lip colour shades in their best-selling products the Lipsilk Matte lip crayons and the Liquid Matte lipsticks (both Dh73.52). Each line has nine new shades. We love a good lip crayon and it’s even better if they have fun names such as Marilyn Monrose, a dusty pink; Matte Demon, a deep, brick-red; and Metropo.Lips, a rich plum colour. The crayons have a matte finish and are said to last all day long.
