There are people who think Valentine’s Day is for fools, and then there are people like me. Please bring on the roses, chocolates, cheesy songs and the best spa and beauty deals such as these:

If you’ve been trying to get your significant other to try out a facial, now is the best time to drag them to one. Nova Clinic by Aesthetics is offering a two-for-one deal on the HydraFacial or Hollywood facial. Book either of the treatments on February 14 and you’ll get the second one free, which means a saving of Dh850.

Give yourself some tender loving care at Blush N Curls Salon in Al Qusais, which has a three-for-two offer throughout the month. Pick from a variety of hair, nails and personal care services including facials and massages. It’s the season of treating yourself!

One of The Beauty Beat’s favourite salons, Project Beauty in Jumeirah, is sharing the love with a generous 30 per cent discount on all treatments booked on February 14. Whether you’re opting for something from their T’sume services — Margaret Dabbs London manicures and pedicures, and brilliant Biologique Recherche facials — or services at The Wax Studio, you’re going to get top notch care.

Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to splurge on a luxurious spa day and it doesn’t get more luxurious than the frankincense-themed Luban Spa. The newly opened spot features some magical treatments that are fashioned around the highly coveted aromatic resin. The two-hour Rhythm of Love package includes a rose and sandalwood body scrub along with an herb wrap massage (Dh600). The two hour and 45 minute Love Radiance package offers a signature Luban Spa bliss treatment and a mani-pedi (Dh535).

Is there anything more romantic than strangers rubbing hot stones on you and your partner? Jokes aside, hot stone therapy is quite soothing and it’s a great way to unwind with a loved one. The Heavenly Spa at The Westin Dubai Al Habtoor City is offering a bespoke 50-minute hot stone massage in the couples’ suite that has a panoramic view of the Dubai skyline. Fancy, right? After the massage, spend some quiet time together at the couples’ relaxation area (Dh890 per couple).

Valentine’s Day beauty

I’m being stricter with my make-up and beauty purchasing, but these items that are perfect for the day of love might just break my will.

Kiko Milano’s Lip Me Lots collection is ultra-cute and hard not to fall in love with. They’ve launched six lipsticks with gorgeous red metallic packaging and the sweetest heart-shaped tips. Other items from the collection include a pH reactive sheer lipstick that will look different on everyone, a black eyeliner, a blush and a cutesy kabuki brush.

Gifting perfume on Valentine’s Day is pretty cliche, but I wouldn’t be mad if someone gave me a bottle of Detaille 1905, which is described as a green and fresh fragrance with touches of violet and blackcurrant bud, blossoming into a fragrant legend of rose, jasmine and ylang ylang on a background of sandalwood, vetiver and oak moss. That sounds absolutely romantic. (Dh280 on balmessence.com.)

For Valentine’s Day, Charlotte Tilbury has released seven new lip products, but the one that has caught my eye is the deep berry lipstick called Opium Noir in a matte finish. Reminiscent of Hollywood’s Film Noir era, this sultry shade will make a unique addition to anyone’s make-up collection. It’s perfect for date night when you want to make an impression.
